Forum for the Future of Agriculture | From soil science to policy : Harnessing the biodiversity beneath our feet for a climate-resilient futur
The EU needs to transition from knowledge generation in projects to simple, impactful actions. Soil actionable recommendations should be tailored to each stakeholder and their specific roles. This event will explore how we can build a collaborative and harmonized roadmap to advance soil biodiversity policies and practices.

11th European Regions for Innovation in Agriculture, Food and Forestry Annual Conference
The ERIAFF members from the Region of Catalonia, Spain, are delighted to invite all network members to the 11th Annual ERIAFF Conference, taking place in the city of Vic from 7th to 9th April 2025.
This year’s theme, “Transformative Innovation: Circular Bioeconomy for Rural Development and Resilient Landscapes” invites regional policymakers, agri-food and forestry developers, as well as researchers to engage in discussions on resilience and the bioeconomy in Europe.
It is an in-person conference, but attendance during the morning sessions on April 8 will be streamed online.
Participation is free, but registration is required.
The conference is organised by the ERIAFF network and the Regional Government of Catalonia and its Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food.

2025: From soil science to policy : Harnessing the biodiversity beneath our feet for a climate-resilient future
The EUROSOIL is the official meeting of the European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS), it is among Europe’s most important Soil Sciences events and offers a fantastic opportunity for knowledge transfer among the Soil Sciences community. The EUROSOIL is held every four years and attracts a large audience of over 2500 participants who present their findings through oral and poster presentations across up to 10 parallel sessions. The event also features workshops and an exhibition of products and services aimed at raising awareness in society, facilitating the exchange of ideas and information and creating business opportunities. Additionally, the Iberian Congress of Soil Sciences (CICS) will also be held during this edition of EUROSOIL.

International Science Festival | A webinar focused on the challenges we face with water worldwide
The "International Science Festival: Agriculture – Food - Environment" is back for its fourth edition, this year on the theme: "Water, from its sources to the ocean".

4th EUSO Stakeholders Forum
The EUSO convenes its 4th Stakeholder Forum, an annual event organised by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) whose purpose is to actively engage and exchange with the soil community, from policy makers and scientists to local actors, civil society representatives and citizens. The 4th EUSO Stakeholders Forum will be an opportunity for anyone interested in soils to update and exchange on various themes including latest developments in soil policy and the state of soils in Europe and beyond.

IBI Biochar Study Tour
The Italian Biochar Association (ICHAR) and the International Biochar Initiative (IBI) are pleased to announce the IBI Biochar Study Tour in Florence, Italy.
The IBI Study Tour is an annual event welcoming biochar industry professionals to gain real-world experience through sightseeing some of the most innovative and versatile biochar projects in host locations across the globe.

Second Young Soil Researchers Forum
The EU Soil Observatory (EUSO) provides an inclusive stage for participatory research in Europe and beyond. In 2021, at the first gathering of the EUSO Stakeholders Forum, young researchers were actively engaged through the establishment of the 1st Young Soil Researchers Forum (YSRF). Over 50 early-career scientists had the opportunity to present and discuss their findings and potential implications for policy development. This first edition resulted in the publication of the EUSO Young Soil Researchers Forum thematic issue in the European Journal of Soil Sciences.

Policy Workshop on International Carbon Certification Schemes

Thematic Event 5 - Soil health from a forest land-use perspective
The fifth thematic event Soil health from a forest land-use perspective, organised by Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), takes place on 25 January 2024 at 10:00 CET. It explicitly addresses two objectives of the EU Mission: A Soil Deal for Europe: prevent erosion and improve soil structure to enhance biodiversity.
We would like to initiate discussions about how the concepts of soil health and living labs could be understood and applied within forestry and across forested landscapes.

British Society of Soil Science Annual Conference
The British Society of Soil Science and the Soil Science Society of Ireland’s Joint Annual Conference 2023 will take place from Monday 4 – Tuesday 5 December in Belfast. The overall conference theme is Soil Management and Monitoring. The packed two-day event, set in the historic Assembly Buildings Conference Centre in the heart of Belfast, will provide delegates with a fantastic opportunity to see the latest research and developments within soil science.

European Mission Soil Week: Leading the transition towards healthy soils
The European Mission Soil Week will be an annual event designed as a major European gathering that brings together the European soil community. Researchers, policymakers, farmers, foresters, spatial planners, land owners and managers, businesses and organisations as well as the general interested public will meet to discuss the challenges for healthy soils. The event will be an occasion to communicate and disseminate solutions based on the latest research results and innovation. The European Mission Soil Week will mobilise communities to protect and restore soil health.

Soil health as critical for the health of farms, the health of the society and the health of the homeland
Join the parliamentary dialogue on soil health co-organized by the Parliamentary Committee for the Development of Family Farms of the Sejm [the Lower Chamber of Parliament] of the Republic of Poland in cooperation with the European Carbon Farmers initiative to discuss the EU Soil Health Mission and its implications in the Polish context.
