XXXI Aapresid Congress

  • Salón Metropolitano Rosario Argentina (map)

A new edition of the Aapresid Congress, the most important event in the field of agricultural knowledge and technologies in Argentina and a worldwide reference, will be held in the city of Rosario, Argentina on August 9, 10 and 11.

Every year, Aapresid Congress is the place where the paradigms of sustainability have a dialogue with agronomic, economic and political strategies to improve the lives of everyone. For this reason, this year, the event will be a platform to discuss the multiple strategies of Carbon. Why? Because in every piece of cultivated land, we have a natural CO2 sequestering machine, and the key to improving soils and fighting against climate change.

Carbon is a fundamental element without which there is no life on Earth.

After subatomic particles, it is the minimum expression into which every plant, tree, forest, animal, ecosystem, and every one of us can be divided. It is the form in which our bodies are returned to Nature once we cease to exist. It is in almost everything we touch, use, wear, dress and eat. Carbon represents opportunity, it is valuable.

It is said that a word to the wise is enough. Today we are raising the bet and saying: just one letter to the wise is enough. This year, the slogan of the Aapresid Congress is the letter C, and that is quite a symbol.

The 2023 conference will focus on 9 thematic areas and include:

  • + 90 simultaneous lectures

  • Commercial Exhibition Hall

  • Machinery Park

  • Simultaneous translation

Themes:

Diverse Crop Rotations

Strategies to adjust intense and diverse rotations to different conditions and productive environments – Understanding the biological processes that rule agricultural ecosystems – Multi-functional landscapes – Time and space diversification – Evergreen Agriculture in extreme environments – Success stories worldwide – Service crop management.

Soil Health & Climate Change

The importance of soil in the future of Humankind – Soil health status globally and in Argentina – Soil biology: Why is it important and how can we improve it? – Soil health testimonies: management strategies and tools to restore soils in different regions. Climate change in the global agenda – Carbon markets – Agriculture and Climate Change – Opportunities and challenges faced by Argentina’s agriculture in becoming an ally to reduce GHG emissions – Innovative production strategies focused on mitigation and adjustment.

Biotechnology

Innovation perspectives in biotechnology for the coming years. Improvements to introduce new crops in the rotations. How can Argentina create a better investment framework for biotechnology?

Bioeconomy

The future of bioenergy worldwide – The long road to defossilization in agriculture – The role of Agtechs in biomass added value – Bioeconomic opportunities for an agribusiness-oriented Argentina – Challenges in HR Training – New ways to start and fund projects based on Bioeconomy.

Integrated Agriculture-Livestock Systems

Integration as a diversification tool for agriculture – Developing an integration strategy customized for each productive situation. – The “thousand different” ways to achieve integration: Experiences from the Argentine North West area to the South of Buenos Aires Province – Livestock, emissions and climate change.

Machinery

Positioning of the machinery sector in the new climate and production scenario – Where will the main technological innovations in agricultural machinery take place? – The role of renewable energies in the future machinery – Digital agriculture: data generation and use – Training challenges and new machinery operator skills

Education & Communication

Integrating disciplines beyond Agronomy to design the agricultural systems we expect – Challenges to the training of HR and future Agriculture professionals – From experimental to field transformational models. Building consensus in a context with an excess of messages – Management in the “information overload” era – Communication for a collective landscape construction – The power of words and narratives.

Politics

Public policy challenges for a sustainable Agriculture: Designing policies that drive a long-term comprehensive view, investments in sustainable technologies and the recovery of degraded ecosystems – A legal framework for Evergreen Agriculture

Agroecology

It encompasses knowledge about the environment, crop physiology, pest biology and the complex interactions between system components so that process technologies such as integrated pest management (IPM), soil management, rotations, etc. emerge from them and help reduce the environmental impact. All of these processes and knowledge technologies require commitment and trainin

Technical Tour on Sustainable Agricultural Systems in Argentina

In the framework of the XXXI Aapresid Congress, we are organizing a technical tour on sustainable agricultural systems in the heart of the Pampa, the main productive region of the country, where you can learn about argentine productive models, leaders in innovation, soil care and sustainability.

  • Real production systems in the main productive regions of the country.

  • Technical exchange with our farmers and experts.

  • Conservation Agriculture (CA) and no-till farming systems.

  • Agriculture for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.

  • Evergreen Agriculture: a new concept of production based on no-till: efficient, taking care of the environment and people.

Target audience:

Farmers, technicians, university students, agricultural organizations, policy makers / official delegations.

The tour includes:

Transfers, 8 nights accommodation, meals, bilingual technical guide (Spanish-English) and entrance to the XXXI Aapresid Congress.
