CIMMYT and CIFOR-ICRAF are pleased to host a discussion on Scaling Soil Health, to collate lessons learned from research projects underway or recently completed. Although large amounts of scientific information on soil health management solutions for the smallholder farming sector in Africa exist, there are opportunities to improve translation, adaptation and use at local and national levels. Therefore, the scaling and long-term sustained use of soil health solutions is a collective goal of many new initiatives. This workshop aims to address these gaps and brainstorm collective solutions going forward.
Objectives
Share lessons learned on implementing projects designed to improve and sustain soil health in Africa.
Brainstorm on entry points for bringing these lessons and evidence to local, national, regional, and international planning processes for effective implementation.
Expand collaboration across initiatives aimed to scale healthy soil practices.
Produce a joint output highlighting key findings and lessons learned.
