Soil is estimated to store a whopping 2500 gigatons of carbon worldwide, but it’s often overlooked in discussions relating to the climate crisis and adaptation.
Healthy soil can protect food and water security, house an abundance of microbes and biodiversity, and has the potential to sequester billions more tonnes of carbon. But to reach its full potential, we need to make its protection more of a priority.
Join the Global Landscape Forum and Dr Rattan Lal, distinguished professor of Soil Science and director of the CFAES Rattan Lal Center for Carbon Management and Sequestration at Ohio State University, on June 15th at 11:00 EDT / 17:00 CEST to learn more about the benefits that soil can offer and how to harness its power.
